Setting up Airmail to use the Internet

Airmail can be setup to use the internet to check you into the WinLink system.  The following information will describe how to setup the necessary information in your computer to log into the K0SI PMBO and most other standard PMBO's.  There are some differences between them so be careful to follow the correct set of instructions.

Please note that the password for the K0SI PMBO should not be given out for public use.  The K0SI PMBO is for Emergency Communications use only.  Of course testing of setups and equipment is always welcome.

Telnet access to the K0SI PMBO

Open Airmail, then open the Internet Access (or Telnet) module from the module menu.  Click the New button near the top and you should get a Telnet Settings box. Fill yours out to match the box below, but be sure to use your call sign in the local call sign box.

Telnet setup

Once you have the required information in, including your call sign, click OK.

Telnet Access to public PMBO's (K4CJX)

Setup of telnet access to a public PMBO is very similar, the big changes are the remote call sign, remote host and the password.  Public PMBO's can be used by any ham anytime for routine email.  Public PMBO's are the preferred ones to use for your traveling email access etc.  Create another New telnet connection and enter the info below including your call sign in the Local Callsign box.

Public Telnet Setup

These same settings can be used for other PMBO's as well by changing the Remote Call sign and Remote Host fields as appropriate.
