The first KMØR IRLP node is online and it's
node number is 3118. You can see its status on the IRLP status
page here... http://status.irlp.net/statuspage.html Then
watch the node numbers on the left and scroll down to node 3118.
Node 3118 is running on a Pentium III 933MHz
computer with 128 MB of memory. It runs Fedora Core 3 Linux and uses
the IRLP Version 3 interface board. The current radio is a Motorola M10
interfaced directly to the IRLP card and computer. There are some
pictures of the node here...
Currently the node is a simplex node. It
operates on 445.900 MHz with a PL of 127.3 on the input and output both. Please
note that you must transmit PL to get into the IRLP node. This is done
to reduce the possibility of an inadvertent local signal tying up a reflector
or another IRLP node when connected.
Future plans include some type of Amateur Radio
related audio news that will can be played on demand. The node may also
move to a repeater if reliable internet access can be obtained at the repeater
site. Keep watching here for more info.
I have ordered and received a second IRLP board
in anticipation of adding IRLP to my 442.325 + (pl 127.3) repeater when internet
access is available at the site. I anticipate it being on the air by
mid-spring.
Check back here for updates often as I will
post information as it is ready. Thanks for looking!! If you have questions,
use the info on the Contact page.

Connecting to others :
To use IRLP node 3118, first LISTEN!!! Then
listen again! This will help ensure that you are not interrupting an
ongoing conversation either locally on the node frequency or on a reflector
or another connected node. If you hear nothing, key up your transmitter
and announce your ID and intentions, then using your DTMF keypad, dial the
node or reflector number that you want to connect to.
Be sure to listen for another 15 to 30 seconds
after you hear the node announce that it has connected to your selection to
ensure that there isn't a QSO in progress there. Also, please be sure
to leave some room in between transmissions. If you are too quick, you
can prevent others from disconnecting their node if necessary.
When you are done, simply key up, ID and dial
73 on your DTMF pad to disconnect the node. The 73 code will disconnect
you from any other node or reflector.
To access another node or reflector, take a
look at the node status list and
decide which one you would like to connect to. You may connect to any
node that shows a status of idle or to any reflector. It is advisable
to lookup the reflector rules for the reflector that you want to access prior
to accessing it for the first time. This
will ensure that you are following the wishes of the reflector owner. You
may not connect to nodes that show a status of 'OFFLINE', 'DOWN', or 'Busy'
for obvious reasons.
Remote use of this node:
Most IRLP nodes will only require that you dial
this node number to connect to it from another node (3118). Please check
with your node owner or control operator if that doesn't work for you.
More information is available on the IRLP.net pages. There
is a menu on the left side of that page. Items of interest would probably
be the Introduction, Guidelines and FAQ pages first.
