UPDATE! - April 24, 2009 - IRLP node 3121 has been installed and is ready for use on the 442.325 repeater.

The IRLP node on the 442.325 repeater is ONLINE!

This node is connected directly to the controller which runs the 442.325 repeater in Columbia. The controller is an RLC-Club Deluxe model, upgraded with the latest firmware (V2.15 at the time of this writing).

This node (3121) runs on an old Pentium III computer which has been built specifically for this purpose from scrap computer parts I had laying around. It has a 966MHz processor with a whopping 256MB of RAM.

Node 3121 does require an access code to dial other IRLP nodes. This code may be obtained by contacting Don - KM0R via the contact page of this site. The reason for the access code is two-fold. 1. it helps to prevent inadvertant node dialing from DTMF falsing in the controller and 2. the control operators of the repeater will have a list of those who have been given access.

Node 3121 does not require anything to receive IRLP calls from other nodes. Anyone using the repeater may answer an incoming IRLP call by keying their radio and talking just like they were talking to another repeater user. You'll know an IRLP user by the different courtesy tone, plus there will be an announcement of the node connecting. When the IRLP node is online and connected and that user unkeys, you'll hear an "R" in morse code which is different from the normal courtesy tone of the repeater. This is your indication of an IRLP user.

Please check the guidline link at the left for hints and tips on operating via IRLP. You may also want to check out the IRLP main site at www.irlp.net.
